Chile Mulato Peppers are mild to moderate dried chile peppers. Mulato Peppers are similar to the Ancho Pepper, as they both come from the Poblano Chile pepper, but the Mulato Chile has a smokier and sweeter flavor, with strong licorice and chocolate undertones.
Chile Mulato pods are used in soups and stews. Mulato Pepper is also an important ingredient in mole sauces.
