Our Porcini Mushroom Powder is made from dried porcini mushrooms. The flavor of porcini mushrooms is unique, rich, and earthy. Dried porcini have a much more concentrated flavor than fresh ones.

Powdered porcini mushrooms are the ultimate gourmet seasoning. They instantly add depth and strong woodsy flavor to just about any dish without adding a lot of “bulk.” The flavor is strong and concentrated, so a little powder goes a long way.

Porcini powder adds an extra kick to dry meat rubs, where it forms a delicious crust upon cooking. It can also be sprinkled on vegetables, potatoes, pasta, and just about anything as a finishing touch.

Because the powder is made from dehydrated mushrooms, it also acts as a thickener for sauces. Porcini powder can also be used to make the simple and delicious porcini mushroom sauce.

Try mixing it with breadcrumbs and using it as a topping for mac and cheese. Careful! The robust flavor can be extremely addictive.

TLDR: Smells funky. Tastes AMAZING. Best Steak ever.

Don’t hesitate to buy this porcini powder. I wasn’t sure at first because of the smell. WOO is that porcini mushroom smell strong, I had to do some googling to make sure it was supposed to smell like that. It is not unlike dog food. I actually googled something like “porcini dog food” and the only thing that came up said that you can identify real porcinis by their dog food smell. That made me feel confident enough to go ahead. But stick with me here…

I marinated some rib eye steaks in soy sauce and then dusted them with the porcini powder (it is very fine ground) and some rosemary. I then panfried the steaks. I still daydream about those steaks. Not only was it the best steak I ever made; it was the best steak I ever TASTED. And I’ve been to Texas. Only thing is the powder looks black when cooked, so the steak looked burnt even though it wasn’t.

    Five Stars

This stuff is PRIMO!! I’m in love with the smell. I open the pouch up just to smell it. My wife can’t stand the smell and thinks I’m crazy, but no one can argue with the taste.
