Epazote leaves have a pungent flavor, much like anise and fennel only stronger.
Epazote has a wonderful aroma reminiscent of citrus and mint. It is typically used in Mexican dishes such as quesadillas, soups and tamales.
Epazote is used not only for its flavor, but also for its uncanny ability to prevent flatulence.

Excellent Freshness
The leaves were broken to the perfect size to add to recipes. I used them in chili and the benefit was fantastic. I use them to avoid the flatulence from beans which they did, but they also add a slightly smoky taste to the chili which is fantastic. I have been looking for good quality epazote for a while and I can promise that this is where I will be buying it from now on.
