Serrano chili peppers come from the mountains of Mexico.
Like the jalapeno pepper, the spicier serrano pepper brings a clean heat to your meals. But don’t forget that the serrano can be up to 9 times hotter than the jalapeno!
Also keep in mind that this less ripe ground green serrano is not as spicy as the red serrano chile.
You can find our serrano can in a variety of salsa verdes and hot sauces. It also makes a nice addition to some spicy guacamole.
